The first thing that I would do before I would decommission a computer is to make sure that all the data on the hard drive is absolutely wiped out by in-house technicians or somebody I can trust. Once the decision is made to get rid of the PC there are charities who would take them and maybe put them to good use, this is a better solution for me.
